A year ago (to the day!), I had the pleasure of working with the oh so kind, fun, and beautiful Julie Hunt of Jefferson Lane Designs, which offers playful bows, accessories and apparel adorned with absolutely gorgeous custom embroidery, for a branding photography session on Nantucket.  If you know Julie, it will come as no surprise that she was a natural in front of the camera, and of course she has impeccable taste so I was in photographer heaven!  🙂 

We met at Old North Wharf just before the 4th of July, which was a perfect fit for Julie’s brand, including her new red, white, and blue embroidery design, which of course we had to feature with the festive flags on display at the Wharf as a bACKdrop (sorry, had to).  Julie had special access to one of the historic waterfront homes at this iconic Nantucket location, allowing us a rare vantage point overlooking Easy Street Basin and everyone’s favorite little red boat, The Sunken Ship.

On the deck of this exclusive private property and dressed impeccably, Julie was definitely channeling Marilyn Monroe that afternoon, and I couldn’t help but prompt her to wave at her “fans” (tourists taking in the view) across the Basin. The shots we captured in that moment ended up being some of my favorite photos from this fun-filled afternoon.  If you’re a small business owner traveling to Nantucket, I highly recommend considering spending half a day getting branding photos done on island.  You could even be extra smart, like Julie, and squeeze in some holiday-themed photos as well to have on hand for that (other) most wonderful time of the year, which can sneak up on us so quickly after summer ends and the kids head back to school.
