I can say without hesitation that the best family sessions are the ones where the whole family shows up ready to HAVE FUN. This New York City family brought that energy — and some to spare — with them to their Madaket photo session last summer on Nantucket, and the photos we created together that evening make my case for me.

We started our evening on Millie’s bridge and made our way to Smith’s Point, with stops along the way to indulge the girls’ curiosity. My favorite part of the evening was watching the girls frolic and play in the surf on the ocean side. They were so happy and carefree, embodying the spirit of childhood summers. Mom and Dad helped encouraged the playfulness, spinning, racing, joking, and dancing with their growing babies. I found myself awestruck witnessing what was unfolding before me — it was palpably special, core memory-worthy. I would not be surprised in the least to learn 10 to 20 years from now that these vivacious girls still remember that night in Madaket getting their photos taken with fondness, and in vivid color.
